About Me - Getting To Know Stacy

Stacy on Career

If you read my resume, you would have noticed that my degree is in Informatics. Unless you are a super techy-hipster type, you probably don’t know what that is, so don’t feel bad! Informatics is ‘solving problems using Information Technology (IT)’. Basically you get an overview of knowledge about IT (ie:JAVA, HTML, PHP, SQL, XML, etc – all that super geek stuff) and then you focus that knowledge in a specific area (ie: Business, Medical, Biology, Music, etc). The idea is to use the IT knowledge to improve your area of focus.

I personally, chose the business route since I enjoy marketing and management. In my first ‘real’ job as a website manager, I not only updated the site, but tried to make it marketable and customer friendly. I realized I enjoyed marketing the site via emails and advertisements and therefore, pursued Search Engine Marketing, which is what I do today!

I love being able to understand how a website is run and how search engines determine rankings as well as using marketing to bring in new and keep existing customers excited and coming back! I think I have a well-rounded comprehension of Ecommerce, which is driving the market these days, lucky for me! I continue to learn new things everyday and hope to continue to expand my career.

Stacy on Home Life

I was born and raised in a suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana. I grew up in a pretty big family with 5 brothers and sisters, so sharing is a must. I have a super sweet and loving 3-year old black labrador; the perfect companion who has incredibly way too much energy!

A month before my 25th birthday, I got a job offer in Florida. If you’ve ever been to Indianapolis or anywhere in the Midwest, you would understand my excitement for the chance to get out of that cold, gray city. Don’t get me wrong, Indy is very nice in the summer, but that only lasts about 4 months, not my idea of ideal. So I packed up my bags and started the second quarter of my life in sunny Florida!

Stacy on Extracurricular

I played softball and lacrosse in highschool, and also dabbled in volleyball and basketball (until I realized that being tall does not automatically give you the ability to make baskets, needless to say that didn’t last).

Growing up, I participated in Girl Scouts and have always been involved with other volunteering-type groups. I actually raised over $1300 in 2007 & 2008 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. I also participated in choir for several years and still have a passion for singing and dancing. I love Broadway, concerts and soulful jazz bands. I love all types of outdoor activities, amusement parks and traveling. I even lived and studied in Spain and can’t wait to go back, among other places on my list to visit! I have a great sense of humor and love to laugh as well!

And of course, we can’t forget my obsession with the Colts. Yes, I am a huge Indianapolis Colts fan, so sorry Patriot fans, hopefully you aren’t hovering over the X button right now, but I understand if so! I also like the Pacers, so you can throw that in my face for the time being!
